Background & Challenges

Chatur’s father is a marginal farmer and fulfils the needs of his families with a yearly income of around Rs. 50,000

“I lost my mother to advanced melanoma when I was just 3 years of age. Ever since, my father has worked day and night to provide for my sister and me both emotionally and financially.

In 2017, I got a job post my graduation but just 10 months into the job, I met with a near-fatal road accident. My right leg was shattered. Ultimately, I was declared orthopedically disabled. I was just 28 then.”

Scholarship Support

Unwilling to give up, Chatur decided to pursue an Executive MBA in Marketing after being bed ridden for 6 months. He successfully got admission at IIM Visakhapatnam.

“Since a large part of my savings has been exhausted on hospital bills, I needed financial support urgently, and hence, began looking for scholarship opportunities.” That’s when Chatur learnt about the IDFC FIRST Bank MBA Scholarship, which ultimately supported his regular educational expenses throughout his MBA years.

He also looks forward to giving back to the less privileged in the future. “Helping the underprivileged, especially the disabled students, will be my way of saying thank you to the IDFC FIRST Bank team.”
